A more detailed description of Speak2Paint Cards functionality follows.

Speak2Paint Cards as it first appears on your screen after being accessed from the Internet:

Note the simple and clear control buttons. Speak2Paint Cards was designed to be easy to learn, and fun and easy to use. Notice the “Hello” greeting message on top with the e-mail address being used to create the card.

Speak2Paint Cards has simple and easy to read instructions which appear at the push of a button:

Note the way the images of the control buttons are shown in the instruction page. Creating a painting is fun and easy.

To create a painting for a card, simply ‘talk, sing or make funny noises into the microphone’:

The painting is created by the sound and reflects what’s in it. The colors are rich and vibrant and can be changed just by clicking on the “Colors” button. This painting will appear on the front of the card being made. Note the message at the bottom of the card that was created by clicking the “Message” button.

In addition to sound from the microphone, paintings can be created from sounds provided with the “SOUNDS” button.

Various musical instrument and other sounds can be selected and used:

Any of the keys on the left can be clicked in any sequence to create paintings – each has its own effect on the painting. You hear and see the sound at the same time. When the sounds keys are active, all the other buttons are still active as well, which means that colors, patterns and messages can be changed while using “SOUNDS”. Once the user is satisfied with their painting and message, they can SEND the completed card to the Internet.

It is easy to send your card to the Internet where it can be sent to a soldier or their family:

The message that will be printed on the back of the card appears on the screen. Note that you can include your e-mail address if you want so that the soldier or family member that receives the card can respond to you (Note: this must be a parents e-mail address). Also, you can include your user name if you choose to as well. To send the card to the Internet, click the “Click to Send It” button. When it arrives on the website, it will appear on a web page created for the e-mail address that was used to create the card.

Here’s what your Web page with your card(s) will look like on the Internet:

Notice that you can SEND more than one card to the Internet – they appear as thumbnail images on the bottom left. The card most recently sent will appear larger on the right. By clicking on any of the thumbnail images, that card will appear larger on the right. From this page, you can ADD CARDS to your “Giving Cart” – one or more of them. When you are ready to send them to the soldiers and their families, click the SEND CARDS button which will take you to the PayPal “Giving Cart” page where they then can be paid for and sent.

The Thanks4Giving Program

A Holiday Giving to Our Troops and their Children and Families

The Thanks4Giving Program will allow Americans everywhere to say 'Thank you' to our soldiers for their service and sacrifices in Iraq, and to their children and families as well. We are working in cooperation with the New York Air Guard 106th Rescue Wing’s Charitable Organization (a 501(c)3) and its Family Readiness Group to allow people to express their appreciation to the heroic men and women serving our country, and to their families. What better time than the holiday season to put forth a program of thanks and giving for these special Americans. We at VisiSound Technologies have been there for kids and families for over six years. We are spearheading this effort so that kids and families can give something back to the soldiers and their kids and families in what for many is a difficult season. Whatever one’s feelings about the conflict, there is nothing more American than supporting our troops, and the Thanks4Giving Program is a way to do that. We're asking for your participation to help us carry out the program in this special season.

The program, which will begin on Veteran’s Day weekend, will consist of two primary parts: events, intended to make people aware of the program so they can make cards; and on the Internet, where people anywhere can create special holiday greeting cards that will be sent to the troops and their families. The highly personalized cards will be created using Speak2Paint© Cards software accessible on the Internet. We will send these cards on behalf of the people that make them to the soldiers and their families as a direct and personal way of saying ‘Thank you’. The cards will be purchasable by anyone, and proceeds from the sale of the cards will be donated to the 106th Rescue Wing’s  Charitable Organization and to support the Thanks4giving program.

We believe that the soldiers and their families – and everyone that knows about the program - will appreciate and remember those that show their gratitude for what these people have given. We’re asking for your participation and support of the program. I will contact you shortly to discuss how you can be part of the program. If you have any questions in the meantime, please feel free to contact me.

Thank you for caring,

Dr. Tom Riedl
